An HDA to make curves and objects follow a path in Houdini.

This node is part of the Threadify pipeline for fabric and thread shots but can help with other scenarios.

This is for Houdini INDIE licenses ONLY!

Connect the node to any set of curves or lines, and it will trace a line over each primitive with features for animation and offsetting.

BENEFITS

1. It helps make any object follow a path by using the points of a curve that follows that path.

   

2. Unlike carving, the curve geometry is preserved and deformed.

   

3. Supports different offset animations per path using variables.

   

   Tracing all these paths is animated by one Trace Curves node. The path itself and the offset attribute are animated before applying Trace Curves.

4. Prepares the curves for Threadify to create thread geometry from it.

   

   It generates the attributes Threadify uses for this feature.

5. Auto-generate a curve or project any curve coming from the 2nd input.
